The research group of Prof. Sabat in the Department of Physics and Space Science at the Royal Military College of Canada (RMC) in Kingston, Ontario invites applications for a Master’s degree in the field of optics and photonics.
The successful candidate must have, or will shortly obtain, a BSc or BEng degree in Physics or another relevant field. Due to the national security implications of projects conducted in the lab, the successful candidate must be a Canadian citizen.

The competition will be open until the position is filled. The expected start date is 1 Sept 2020 and support funding of $16,000 Canadian per year will be provided for 2 years.
The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to work as a teaching assistant at the undergraduate level in the Department of Physics and Space Science at RMC, as openings become available. Arrangements for this service are normally made by the successful candidate directly with the Department Head as they are separate from this advertisement.
RMC is the only federal university in Canada. All undergraduate students are military officers in training, while graduate students are either civilian or military. Civilian graduate students do not have any official association with the military. Professors at RMC are predominantly civilian and have academic research programs funded by various internal and external organizations. RMC is a coeducational and bilingual institution.
