Martine is a native of Quebec then lived in Ontario, the United States, New Brunswick, Belgium, Spain, and Portugal. A keen athlete, she enjoyed participating in numerous extreme and competitive sports and eventually became a trainer and coach. Following her studies in health sciences and applied sciences, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Athabasca University before specializing in biotechnology at Laval University and working in oncology research. To accommodate her spouse and family during their numerous postings, she diversified her skills, working in communications, translation, research, scientific development and sales, program development for military families, as well as teaching and team management. While pursuing her career and enjoying enriching experiences, she completed a teaching diploma at Laurentian University. She continued her teaching career, covering a wide range of subjects and disciplines in both French and English, in Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, and Europe. Having taught at all levels, from kindergarten to university, she has over 20 years of teaching experience. To serve the military community, she was heavily involved with the Military Family Centre as president and oversaw significant changes in collaboration with the team and executive leadership. She completed two short programs at Telfer School of Management, University of Ottawa,  - Governance Training Program for Board of Directors and Executive Directors : Connecting with the Broader Community and Governance Training Program for Board of Directors and Executive Directors : Working on Boards – The Human Dimensions.

Passionate about science, connections, culture, and languages, she enjoys deepening her knowledge and integrating learning concepts to improve the pedagogy of her lessons, as well as retention, emotional response, and cognitive development. She has developed strategies specific to the language acquisition process, tailored to the cognitive differences of each learner.

Martine is also involved in various community and cultural circles. In her free time, she enjoys perfecting her Portuguese, improving her Spanish and Italian, and regularly practicing many outdoor sports.
