General Information
The Royal Military College of Canada (RMC) reserves the right to make changes, without notice, in the published scale of fees. If fee changes are approved after publication deadlines, every effort will be made to notify students affected. However, lack of notification does not exempt a student from paying the appropriate fee. Changes to the fee tables are normally made at the end of the winter term and applied to the subsequent fall term.
Tuition fees are payable by credit card (VISA, MasterCard or Amex), debit card, certified cheque, money order or cash. Certified cheques and money orders must be made payable to: Receiver General for Canada. Please note that personal cheques will not be accepted as a method of payment.
Important: Any student with an overdue debt with RMC will not be permitted to register until the outstanding amount is paid in full. A student with a debt cannot obtain an official transcript, student summary or diploma.

Application of graduate studies full-time tuition fees
Full-time tuition fees (2 payments) cover three consecutive terms of the same academic year, including the summer term. Only if full-time tuition fees are paid for two consecutive terms is the subsequent term free of charge.Footnote6
All PhD students are required to pay the annual full-time rate of tuition in each of their first two years, regardless of the number of courses they are taking. Once this residency requirement has been met, they will be charged on a per-course basis for their comprehensive (CP600) and subsequently, their thesis (TH600). Should students not complete all courses during the first two years, the courses (as defined in their programme) may be completed at no additional cost (excluding comprehensive exam and thesis).
Sponsored students who have not completed studies within the sponsorship period will be required to pay tuition fees according to their student category (i.e. Domestic or International) and programme (i.e. Arts or Science and Engineering).
Full-time students enrolled in their "thesis only" (TH500) will be charged per-term, tuition fees equal to a one-credit course fee. Continuous registration is to be maintained (three terms per year) until completion of their thesis. Students completing thesis corrections toward the end of the current term will not be charged fees for the following term provided that all corrections are submitted and approved by the end of the first month of the new term (i.e. 30 Sept, 31 Jan, and 31 May).
Graduate Studies students who take courses at another Ontario university (excluding Queen’s) under the Ontario Visiting Graduate Student Plan (OVGS), the OVGS fee of $2,200 per full-year course or $1,100 per-term course must be paid by the department who approves the OVGS registration form, from the tuition fee received for that student.
Application of graduate studies of part-time tuition fees
Thesis (TH500, TH600), Project (PR500), and Comprehensive Exam (CP600) per-term tuition fees are equal to a one-credit course fee. Continuous registration is to be maintained (three terms per year) until completed, with a minimum registration period of two terms for a thesis or a project.
Part-time PhD students are expected to pay full-time tuition fees for two years (covering six terms). Once the full-time tuition fees have been paid for the residency period, students will be charged each term on a per-course basis for their CP600 and then TH600. Should students not complete all courses during the first two years, the courses (as defined in their programme) may be completed at no additional cost (excluding comprehensive exam and thesis). If you are a part-time student paying the residency year, please refer to the full-time fees table above.
OVGS fees for students taking courses at another Ontario university (excluding Queen's) under the Ontario Visiting Graduate Student Plan (OVGS) will be forwarded to the host university from the per course tuition fee received for that student.
Master of Business Administration (MBA) (per credit course)
Note: Starting with Block 1 in July 2022. All students enrolled in the Master of Business Administration programme will pay per credit course as outlined in the table below. Students will still be enrolled as a full-time or a part-time student and will be governed by the rules and regulations that apply to their student status.
